Final Countdown!

One week to go until Veronica's first birthday! (And don't forget... her first birthday party, expect tons of pictures from that next week.) Lest you forget what she looks like in the meantime, we offer a random assortment to tide you over.



I hope someone gives V some baby product in her birthday gifts (wink wink) so that we can give her the bathtime mohawk during outside activities! (I say that, but actually, Amanda wouldn't hate you if you threw a sweet Target gift card their way instead of some hair product. I might; but she won't.)



This is a shot from the '80s Dance Party Cover Shoot. An outtake, if you will. Look at that grin! Even Tyra would have to agree that every shot is a keeper.



For the record, she is more concerned with the mechanics of a scale and the novelty of the metal numbers than her weight. And if we have our way, she will keep those priorities for a looooooooong time!

Auntie! In the Barbara-Walters-style-soft-focus of the iPhone! You can't tell here, but Amber has the cutest little hair cut these days.



Could. You. Just. Die??? I've mentioned it before, but Veronica holds the patent on what I like to call the "snorgle", which is when she will affectionately (or sleepily) nuzzle into the collarbone/neck region. This one in particular, of course, being her favorite neck to snorgle.



Um, you know when I mentioned the dying thing above? That can apply here, as well. Seriously... look at those little sprouts!

Two Little Feet

So Veronica has her own little feet.



And these little feet have gotten more action lately, allowing her to stand...



And letting her walk places holding mama's hands. (This is the bandstand area at the Grove, which is just thick with kiddies and a great place to play.)



But now we have a very exciting development... Veronica is walking by herself now, tiny little steps but for sure no hands!



Yeah! So tying in her newfound (and rapidly increasing) mobility, along with the fact that she's fast approaching her FIRST birthday, Amanda and the rest of Team Gore are throwing a wild-and-crazy '80s dance party to celebrate! September 20th at Akbar, bring the kids (and make sure they're rocking their side ponytails)... fun fun fun!

Adventures in a Chair

A lot of kids are cute. But how many of them are ridiculously cute in a ridiculous number of ways, all while rocking the same bright shirt?

Mid-Summer Update

It's gorgeous and sunny and Californiarific as it should be. Where does that make you want to be? Driving a floating car in a pool? Done.



How ideal does that seem for a beautiful day!



Also ideal? Sundresses and friends...



Pulling yourself up on your feet and standing like you've conquered the world...



And chewing. Anything and everything. Chewing is where it's at, I'm telling you.



See? Chewing is The Best!



There are also growing baby check-ups to be had...



And more friends to snuggle (always good, almost as good as chewing, actually!). Marnie and Mama Gambit get the appeal of both snuggling and chewing, they're good that way.



And one of the best summertime activities of all: hanging out on the front porch. Just like the old days. But there's still one thing that's better...
